Biography

Annalisa Orlando is an internationally-acclaimed pianist and chamber musician whose repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary.
In recent years she has achieved considerable experience working as a collaborative pianist in theatre and in chamber projects, as a member of the opera studio of the Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg and for the strings department at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg im Breisgau. She has collaborated with internationally-renowned soloists including Bozo Paradzik, Marco Rizzi, and members of the Berlin Philarmoniker.
She is a 2025-26 Génération Opéra artist.
Annalisa has distinguished herself in national and international competitions, including the “XII Concorso d’esecuzione musicale – Società Umanitaria Milano” , the “Premio Lamberto Brunelli 2013 – Settimane musicali al Teatro Olimpico per i Migliori Diplomati” and the “Coop Music Awards 2018” with violinist Marco Gialluca.
She held scholarships with the Yehudi Menuhin-LMN Club and the Rotary Club of Ludwigshafen.
Her engagements at the Opéra national du Rhin include Les Fantasticks, Les Fables de la Fontaine, Les Trois Brigands, Brundibar (pianist and assistant conductor) and the recital Korngold: Story of a child prodigy. She recorded a world premiere of Franzisek Hertl 30 Miniatures with Bozo Paradzik; the duo then performed a recital of Hertl’s works at the Prague Academy of Music
Further performances include for the Ljubliana Festival, the International Music Campus in Sermoneta, the Royal College of Music in London, Musica Insieme in Bologna, the Italian Cultural Institute in Stuttgart, the Museo Traiano for 40 Fingers in Rome, the Accademia Musicale Pescarese, the Camerata Musicale Salentina and Le Muse Salentine in Lecce, Lucca Classica, the Gesellschaft für Neue Musik and the NTM in Mannheim, Live Music Now in Heidelberg and the Kircheimer Liedersommer.
Annalisa has a great passion for contemporary music, collaborating with living composers such as Jalalu Kalvert-Nelson (Pulitzer Prize finalist). She has performed with the MDI Ensemble at the Giorgio CINI Foundation in Venice and with Ensemble Aisthesis in Heidelberg. She played Die Andeutung for piano and orchestra by F. Stockmaier with Arco Musicale Wiesbaden and in Ali di Cantor by Ivan Fedele with the Orchestra Sinfonica del Molise.
She has participated in masterclasses with Mariagrazia Bellocchio of the Divertimento Ensemble, working on the complete piano works of György Ligeti, Maurice Kagel, Tristan Murail and Salvatore Sciarrino. She participated in a project performing Sciarrino’s Five Piano Sonatas with three other young pianists, which won the 2023 Italian Critic’s Abbiati Prize.
Annalisa began her studies with Silvana Libardo and Pierluigi Camicia. She then studied solo piano at the Monopoli Conservatory with Benedetto Lupo and Carlo Gallo, graduating with honours and a special mention from the Commission. She went on to specialise in chamber music, studying with Scott Faigen at the Musikhochschule in Mannheim.
In 2025 Annalisa became Chair of Chamber Music at the Conservatorio “G. Paisiello” in Taranto.
